MARCO ISLAND AIRWAYS

Marco Island Airways began operations in 1972 with Martin 404 service between Miami and Marco Island, Florida. Service was added to Tampa in 1980, and Lakeland, FL in 1981. The company also operated contract flights as Air Florida Commuter in the 1980s, with service to Key West and the Bahamas. The airline was absorbed by PBA in 1984.

Piper Navajos were used on the Tampa - Lakeland route in the early 1980s.
