SLOCUM AIRLINES Between 1981 and 1984, Slocum operated Britten Norman Islanders, Cessna 402s, and Tri-Islanders across Florida, with routes extending to the Bahamas, as well as to Savannah and Atlanta, GA, and Hilton Head Island, SC. Slocum also operated as Air Florida Commuter for a short period. Britten Norman BN-2 Islander N67HA in the blue and green of Air Florida. Slocum certainly maintained one of the most unusual route systems in Florida, especially considering the small size of their aircraft. The flight time on the nonstop Miami - Savannah route was 2 hours and 20 minutes, quite a haul in an unpressurized commuter aircraft smaller than a station wagon.
