WINGS AIRLawrenceville, GA based

2008 using

Athens, two routes also served by Georgia

the 1970s, both Delta and Eastern flew DC-9s on this route!

The company sought federal subsidy to replace Atlantic
Southeast Airlines at Macon and US Airways Express at Athens
but lost the battle to Georgia
Skies
on both routes. Unable to meet
costs without subsidy, Wings Air terminated service to both
cities in early 2009. During Spring 2009, the airline offered flights
between Atlanta
Hartsfield-Jackson and Lawrenceville, Georgia as well as service
between Ft. Lauderdale and the Bahamas and charter flights.
By November 2009, Wings Air had apparently discontinued all flights. RETURN TO INDEX If you would like to share photos, stories or additional information about any of the airlines, airports or aircraft on this site, please CONTACT ME I would love to hear from you! Updated May 2, 2011 |
